Colden Early Years Nursery is a fun start to education and introduces your child to a more structured way of learning through play. Briefly we follow the Early Years Foundation Stage which is a play based guidance which is based on the seven areas of learning. These are: ·

Physical Development
Expressive Arts and Design
Personal, Social and Emotional Development
Communication and Language
Literacy
Understanding the World
Maths

The Early Years Foundation Stage Document is available to view and talk about with the staff. We deliver our topics through stories and seasons over a two-year period. There is a daily planned activity which is topic linked and the rest of the session is generally based on children's interests and next steps. We operate a key person system which ensures that each child's needs are met individually. All staff do observations on all children using tapestry and these are collated into a profile by the child's key person thus each child's progress is recorded on a regular basis and this helps to inform future planning.

Each child has an individual tracking record which is updated termly and a baseline assessment is done after a month of your child starting Early Years Nursery.
